According to the excellent film Dracula 2000 Dracula is actually Judas, which explains his dislike of silver and daylight, since he was payed for betraying Jesus in silver coins and ... something about sunrise. Forget what. In the end Dracula explodes. Ace. The non-2000 Dracula has to rest in Transylvanian earth. I remember some movie where in order to turn into a vampire one has to be bitten three times. In the Anne Rice novels you'd have to drink a vampire's blood to turn. And in a series of children's books vampires just procreate like humans and there's no turning from human to vampire. And that's about all I can come up with right now.
